SNARE

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 August 2026

This policy sets out what data Snare collects, why, how long we keep it, and who else gets to see it. It is deliberately specific — vague policies help nobody.

1. Who is responsible

RS Consulting & Partner AG [STREET, POSTCODE CITY, SWITZERLAND]

Privacy enquiries: [PRIVACY EMAIL] Abuse reports: abuse@snapordare.app

We operate the app "Snare" (io.rscons.snare). Swiss data protection law (revFADP) governs. If you use Snare from the EEA, you also have the rights set out in the GDPR; the legal bases below are written with that in mind.

2. What we collect

When you create an account

DataSourcePurpose
Email addressfrom you, or via "Sign in with Apple"Signing in, one-time codes, contacting you about problems
Display name (2–20 characters)from youSo your group can recognise you
Profile pictureoptionalShown in channels

If you sign in with Apple you can hide your real address. We then only receive Apple's relay address and work with that.

While you play

Photos taken with the camera, comments, reactions, dares and their proof photos, votes, scores, the times you posted, and which channels you belong to.

Technically necessary

A push identifier for your device, so we can tell you when it's your turn. We delete it as soon as you leave the channel or delivery fails permanently.

Around your membership

Identifiers for your Apple purchases: transaction IDs, product, term, price and currency. We never see payment details — your card and billing sit entirely with Apple.

If you enter a referral code

When you enter another person's account code while starting your membership, we permanently record that your account is attributed to that account, together with the time. This attribution cannot be changed afterwards. The other person does not learn who you are — they only see how many accounts are attributed to them.

3. Why, and on what legal basis

PurposeBasis
Running your account, providing channels, operating the gamePerformance of contract
Notifications about what's happening in the gamePerformance of contract
Billing and verifying your membershipPerformance of contract
Handling reports, preventing abuseLegitimate interest in a safe group; legal obligations
Finding and fixing faultsLegitimate interest in operating the service

We do not profile you to show advertising. We do not sell data. There are no third-party trackers in the app.

4. Who else sees your data

Your group. Everything you do in a channel is visible to the other members of that channel — up to 25 people. There is no public feed and no search; nothing is visible outside the channel.

Anyone holding a recap link. When a phase ends, a recap is created that you can share as a link. That link contains an access key: whoever has it can see the recap and its photos, without the app and without an account. Only share it with people who should see those pictures.

Authorities, where the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

Photos and posts stay until you delete them. They do not disappear on their own — a channel is meant to be a place where a group's history stays put. You can delete individual posts, admins can remove content from their channel, and deleting a channel removes everything in it.

Account data stays for as long as your account exists.

If you delete your account (in the app, under Account), we remove your profile data, your photos and your posts.

We keep purchase and accounting records even after you delete your account — commercial law requires it. They are detached from your account in the process, so they can no longer be linked back to you.

6. Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, and a copy in a common format. You can object to processing we base on a legitimate interest. Where you have given consent — for notifications, for instance — you can withdraw it at any time in your device settings.

Write to [PRIVACY EMAIL]. We respond within 30 days.

You may also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or, in the EEA, to your national supervisory authority.

7. Security

The connection to the app is encrypted throughout. Photos live in non-public storage and are served through short-lived signed links. Who may read which record is decided by the database itself through access rules, not by the app. An account without an active membership can read, but can no longer write.

8. Age

Snare is rated 17+ and intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn that an account belongs to a child, we delete it.

9. Changes

If something material changes, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the current version.
